    It is said that stress is the number one killer in the world. Insecurity, fear, worry and anxiety, all add up to stress. Some would have us believe that all we need to do is exercise, diet, participate in therapy or take a drug to resolve our stress problem. Occasionally, one or more of these treatments work.     Having tried most of the stress control techniques around, I finally came to the conclusion that until I could determine just exactly what my "beliefs" were, and until I could find a way to change them, I would be better off doing nothing. Being a yo-yo is not fun, is it?

    Why is our belief system so important toward shaping our lives? The answer is easier than you think. In fact it’s as easy as this; "You will do nothing you don’t believe in, and conversely you will do anything that you believe you can do successfully". For instance, if you thought you were going to be hit by a car every time you stepped from the curb, you would not step from the curb. On the other hand, if you think you can be successful in any undertaking, however slight the chances are, you will probably go ahead and attempt it.

    Just think, you can now use your computer mind to have all of the good things you have always wanted and get rid of all of the bad. This program will NOT change your religion. But it will change your way of life! What does all of this have to do with stress? I call it stress banking!

    Every time we are threatened with failure, real or imagined, we add to our stress bank account. Every time we attempt to do something that disagrees with what we believe in we are adding to our stress bank account. Every time our comfort zone is interrupted, and especially when it is threatened, we add to our stress bank account. The funny part about all this banking is that if you look at most of the forms of recreation that we have, you will see even greater forms of stress are required in order to participate in the advertised recreation, trying to relieve the stress!

    Take health clubs, for instance! They are not just for your physical well-being! They are not just for social activity! They are really stress clinics! Look at the majority of the locations and participants...high-end financial areas! This location criteria isn’t serendipitous; it’s necessary for the club and it's members survival.

    There is going to be a certain amount of stress in anyone’s life. The question is how much stress are you going to carry around all day and into your sleep just to survive?
